Kids are also most welcome in the summer concert series. We kindly invite them to the educational programme "Rhythm Games," which combines two art forms – music and theatre. The latter will be represented by actors Rugilė Latvėnaitė and Simonas Lunevičius whose performance will add playfulness, attractiveness and accessibility to this programme. Together with percussionist Ingrida Spalinskaitė-Kurienė, they will introduce percussion instruments and demonstrate their most prominent qualities. Children will be encouraged to take active part in this programme by playing and acting themselves. Having tried various instruments and learned about rhythm, they are expected to make music themselves, develop a taste for and a better understanding of music.

The theme of the "Rhythm Games" revolves around changes of rhythm during the year when autumn comes after summer, then winter falls, and so forth. Rhythm is the basis of all music, thus by way of learning to play simple rhythms children are ushered into the wider world of sounds and encouraged to explore what sounds and rhythms can be heard in our everyday environment and nature throughout the year. Actors use simple and catchy poems by Lithuanian poets for their short scenes, which alternate with colourful and attractive musical pieces for percussion instruments.
